分盤系統：
印度吠陀占星最重要的特色在於對每一星、影響點(命點)有更進一步的細分。在西洋占星中不管是古典或現代占星雖然已把出生地的經緯度跟出生時間的分秒都考慮進去了，但是出生多一分鐘的差異在命運格局高低上的鑑別度很難跟印度吠陀占星的細膩度相比。在古典占星一分鐘的差別特別表現在太陽弧角的推運跟主限法上；而在判斷格局成敗上除非是命在兩星座的29度、0度的岐度點，是很難分辨12點10分生跟12點15分生的差別。在西洋占星裡學會這兩種系統才能體會分秒差一命。反觀印度吠陀占星術藉由它的分盤系統，一開始便可以分辨差一分鐘命格的命理差異了。
談到這裡，或許有人會問古典占星或印度吠陀占星誰比較優異。我的經驗是這要細分才能釐得清楚：古典占星在推運上某些子系統能夠快速定盤，指出正確的生時。印度吠陀占星在論格局高低、成敗非常細緻。此外，印度吠陀占星學問的傳承上很完整，比較不需要自己從頭探索研究。我在研究古典占星的路上，還好有一些古典占星的先驅如Robert Zoller、Robert Hand..靠他們的翻譯跟研究把快失傳的古法恢復起來，而相較之下，學印度吠陀占星卻相對輕鬆。在印度，你走在路上一不小心可能就會碰上印度吠陀占星的老師，我有一位無緣跟他學的印度朋友Vinod，他們家三代都會印度吠陀占星。研究任何術數都應該慎選。任何術數是不是準確可靠，在人的解讀技巧也在術數本身的系統架構的先天體質。比方公認是占卜之王的大六壬，是因為整個大六壬占卜架構的樣本空間既嚴密又完整。到廟裡擲杯也是一種占卜，你能說擲杯因為占卜的人技巧很好所以能斷得又準又細膩嗎？很難。系統就三種樣本、正正、正反、反反，你能能苛求它什麼？頂多是答答是非題而已。
「相位」：
印度吠陀占星對「相位」的定義跟古典占星有極大的差異。
第一個差異是印度吠陀占星它射出的相位比較像希臘占星的整宮算法。比如月亮在寶瓶，印度吠陀占星論月亮對整個獅子座都有相位。
第二差異是印度吠陀占星並無所謂軟硬相位或吉凶相位，而古典占星分刑衝合會的吉凶相位；也就是說印度吠陀占星衝也好合也罷都不以此論吉凶。另外兩種占星術的行星的相位影響力不同；古典占星多是托勒密相位為主(0度、60度、90度、120度、180度等)，印度吠陀占星的相位跟托樂密相位不太相同，除了七政每個都有的對衝相位，木星、火星、土星還有各自的影響相位，如火星對本位起算第四宮、第八宮射出影響相位。
兼容並蓄
人不分種族、性別，阻礙自己進步發展的不是技不如人，而是視野不夠寬廣。當印度人堅持他們的印度吠陀占星是最好的時候，正透印度人對西洋占星主限法、太陽弧角推運法的陌生。當中國人自祤於八字斗數命術獨步全球的時候，何妨劈一下腿，看看別的民族有什麼可以學習的地方。
